According to the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) in the UK, nine out of every ten American DS owners are downloading games illegally from the web.

Yes : 90%

We'll be careful with that number but the least we can say is that we saw a sharp increase of the use of the R4 cartridges. What was something used by a small number of "elite" users at the beginning is now common and there is no doubt that this threat is harming the DS games market.

Of course the DSi brought some protection with its online updated firmware but what about the other millions of DS (DS to DS lite) which represent actually the most important part of the DS market?

This is a problem we considered seriously, this is the reason why we developed a protection available for all our future games. Meaning that every single game we develop we'll be protected against R4 cartridges and similar linkers.

This protection is only available for our games and won't be sold as a standalone or with our Engine.
